My Persona!

Who Art the Mossy Minstrel

Hello, traveler. I created the Minstrel to be someone I'd like to be—an ideal version of myself, a version where my loud personality and love of storytelling and all things performing arts are ideal traits and not an annoyance, inconvenience, or bother. Their design is inspired by that of stained glass windows of the Middle Ages and donkeys within biblical art (that's why they have donkey ears and a tail).

They are unlike me in any way. They are loud and proud and never shy. They are never ashamed—a performer putting their heart and soul into storytelling. They are emotional. They are sad and happy if they want to be. They are whatever they want—loud if they need to be, quiet when they want to be, bold, and at times unfunny. They feel deeply, loving grief and joy and all in between. They feel everything. The whole world is their stage.

The glass is also symbolic of emotions and how fragile they are. They travel, telling stories of lands far and wide, much like my own wanderlust. I never wish to stay in the same place for more time than feels right. They are genderless, just as it feels wrong to give a being of enigma a gender. They are neither human nor donkey nor any being of definition.

They are a representation of me—how I am to myself and who I want to be. They are everything and nothing. They are like this absurdist reality of myself.

A noble portrait of Mossy
